Dr. Jessi Tidwell, DNP, CRNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, is a dual board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner and the cofounder of Evolve Behavioral Health.
Born and raised in the Shoals, Jessi always knew she wanted to build something that would give back to the community that shaped her. She co-founded Evolve Behavioral Health with the belief that everyone deserves access to compassionate, high quality mental health care in a place where they feel heard, respected, and supported.
Jessi earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice, Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and Post Master's Certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Alabama. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham after earning her Associate Degree in Nursing from Northwest Shoals Community College. Before pursuing nursing, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Environmental Sciences with a concentration in Therapeutic Nutrition from the University of North Alabama, where she was also a collegiate volleyball player.
She has experience caring for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Her clinical interests include ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, trauma related disorders, substance use disorders, and medication management.
While education and clinical training have been essential, Jessi believes some of her greatest lessons have come from life itself. As a wife, mother of three, business owner, and lifelong member of this community, she understands that life can be messy and that mental health affects every part of it. Those experiences have shaped the way she practices by reminding her that every patient has a story, and every story deserves to be heard.
Her goal is simple. She wants every patient who walks into her office to feel seen, understood, and cared for. She believes in taking the time to listen, building lasting relationships, and creating personalized treatment plans that help people move toward healthier, more fulfilling lives.
When she is not caring for patients, Jessi enjoys mentoring future psychiatric nurse practitioners and investing in the next generation of behavioral health providers because improving mental health care starts with supporting both today's patients and tomorrow's clinicians.
