Katie Rinks, PMHNP-C, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and proud Shoals native who is passionate about helping individuals achieve their best mental and emotional well-being. She believes that compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care empowers people to live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
Katie earned bachelor's degrees from both the University of Alabama and the University of North Alabama before completing her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of North Alabama. Before becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, she spent 10 years in Labor & Delivery and served for 5 years as a clinical supervisor for University of North Alabama nursing students, helping educate and mentor the next generation of nurses. Many members of the Shoals community may recognize Katie from her years in Labor & Delivery, where she had the privilege of caring for countless mothers and babies during some of life's most meaningful moments.
Katie is honored to continue serving the community she has always called home by helping individuals and families navigate their mental health. She believes that caring for the mind is an essential part of caring for the whole person and strives to create a welcoming environment where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their care.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, relaxing at the beach, camping, and making lasting memories with family and friends.

Our team offers comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, individual psychotherapy, and personalized treatment for a wide range of behavioral health conditions, including ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma-related disorders, psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and other chronic mental health conditions.
